The Boston North Cancer Association sponsors a scholastic Scholarship Program designed to assist promising North Shore students in overcoming the challenges and hardships posed by cancer so they may achieve their dreams of higher education. The scholarship program also advances improved methods of cancer treatment and prevention by means of assisting medical school students.

Boston North Cancer Association awards three $2,500 scholarships in the spring of each year. Scholarship recipients are selected from an application process that is open to the public. Applications for the 2013 scholarship awards are available below.

Please note: Boston North Cancer Association restricts funding to the following communities: Beverly, Boxfield, Danvers, Essex, Gloucester, Hamilton, Ipswich, Lynn, Lynnfield, Manchester-By-The-Sea, Marblehead, Middleton, Nahant, Peabody, Rockport, Salem, Saugus, Swampscott, Topsfield and Wenham.

The David J. Solimine, Sr. Honorary Scholarship
Awarded annually to a college-bound North Shore high school senior who is a cancer survivor or is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. (download application)

The Hope Begins Here Scholarship
Awarded annually to two college-bound North Shore high school seniors whose parent either passed away from cancer, survived cancer during the applicant's childhood years, or is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. This scholarship is awarded in honor of the annual recipient of the Boston North Cancer Association's Hope Begins Here Award. (download application)

The F. John Bargoot, MD Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a medical school student who resided and completed high school on the North Shore and has a demonstrated interest in cancer treatment and prevention. (download application)
